what is the period lab. protocol?

The Period Lab is 360 degrees of support, where you can test, track, treat, and talk about your hormonal struggles. It focuses on education, specifically how to SUPPORT our beautiful bodies by exploring all the things we should have been taught but weren't. It's a four-month program split between one-on-one and group coaching that guides you to balance your hormones naturally through nutrition, training and lifestyle changes that work for YOU.

It's an all-encompassing women's health protocol that syncs with your hormonal cycle. The program's approach of education and application helps build the foundation for solving internal and external hormonal issues, you know, the ones you thought were "just part of being a woman" and have been dealing with your entire life. It also focuses on improving your fitness, range of motion and overall strength by using those same hormones in advantageous ways!

how do we do it?

nutrition

Using the principles of functional nutrition, The Period Lab is a food therapy approach that recalibrates your hormonal function. Over four months, you will be guided step-by-step to make simple food and lifestyle changes that balance your hormones naturally.

training

Using the principles of the FMS test; functional movement screening, The Period Lab implements how you move and where you are in your cycle to recalibrate your overall alignment, range of motion and overall body strength. Within the first 4-6 weeks, you'll notice a change in your alignment and range of motion. By weeks 7-12, you'll notice a change in strength, and by weeks 12-16, you'll notice a change in toning and body composition. All of this is based on where you are when you walk through these virtual doors. The FMS test is designed to tell me where you are currently, how your mind and body communicate, and how we can set up your training. For example, this movement test will let me know what movements to give you during your bleeding week versus your ovulation week.

lifestyle

The "same way every day" approach ignores a woman's second clock — your hormonal one — and stacks the deck against having a successful day. The science of female biochemistry and the unique cadence of the infradian rhythm, women look, feel, and perform their best when we change what we eat during each phase of our 28-day hormone cycle and when we adjust our workouts to adapt to our natural cortisol and metabolic changes throughout each month. To leverage your hormonal advantage in each phase of your infradian rhythm, you'll want to engage in phase-specific stress management AND thought-management techniques in each phase of your 28-day cycle.
